An adventurous global photo-hunting game where you identify, track, and conquer challenges by guessing locations and objects from across the world, played at home or in the wild.
Photo Journal Quest is a location-based photo hunt game that turns real-world places into interactive puzzles. Players explore a live map, discover photo hunts hidden at real locations around the globe, and earn points by correctly identifying where and what each photo shows.
Each hunt presents a photograph taken at a specific spot somewhere in the world. Your job is to guess what the photo shows and pin its location on the map. The closer you are — in both answer and geography — the higher your score. Visit the location in person for an on-location bonus that supercharges your points.
Photo Journal Quest is built for curious explorers, photographers, travellers, and anyone who loves discovering the world from a fresh perspective. Whether you're a seasoned globetrotter or an armchair adventurer, every hunt is a chance to learn something new about a place you may never have visited.
The platform is community-driven: any registered user can photograph a location near them and publish it as a hunt for others to solve. Premium members can place hunts as close as 25 metres apart, create guided photo trails that chain hunts into a sequential adventure, and access detailed analytics on how their hunts are being played worldwide.
Game Trails add a competitive layer, with weekly sprints, monthly hunts, and year-long adventures that challenge players to find specific types of subjects — from cathedrals and waterfalls to colourful doorways and hidden street art. Leaderboards, daily streaks, and discoveries keep the competition alive all year round.
